How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have one daughter, Saylor, who is almost 3!
What do you love about living in the Sarasota area?
The beaches! I’m originally from Arkansas, and I moved to Florida in 2019 to be near the ocean. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to live near the water, so I’m grateful everyday to be here in the sunshine state.
What’s your favorite restaurant and place to shop in Sarasota?
Our family’s two favorite restaurants are The Old Salty Dog in Venice and Pop’s in Nokomis! We love seeing pups at Salty Dog and dining by the water at Pop’s is my fav! As far as shopping, with a two year old, our favorite place to shop is honestly the Pop’s gift shop!
What do you love about your career?
I love being able to meet new people and help them document their lives! I specialize in photography for high school seniors, families, and personal branding for business owners. Seniors are so fun because they’re energetic and creative, and I get to watch their confidence soar during their session. With my families, we get to play games, laugh and be goofy throughout our time together. I especially love getting to hang out with the little ones and coming up with new ways to make them laugh! Branding sessions are amazing because, like senior sessions, I work closely with my client to make their session unique. The collaboration before the session allows me to personalize the client’s experience so that their final images truly reflect their brand.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love being by the water! Beach days and boat days are a favorite of mine. I also love dining at waterfront restaurants. Give me a sunny patio and a cold drink and I’m set! Bonus if there’s live music!
How do you juggle work and motherhood?
With lots of patience!! It’s really a balancing act that is a constant practice. Asking for help also helps!
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received from another mom?
This piece of advice was trending on social media a while ago, but it’s still one of the best things I’ve heard. One mom said: “When I’m having a rough day with my child, I pretend I’m traveling from the future back in time to spend one last day with my baby.” Talk about waterworks when I first read that!! It really puts things into perspective.
Are there any new and exciting things you’d like to share about your business?
Yes!! My new website launches in September, and I’m so excited!! I’ll be offering a few specials the month of September, so be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook to hop in on the fun!
